The Lost Art of ceremony

In the rhythm of our modern lives, we’ve lost touch with rituals that once grounded us in meaning and connection.
Yet our souls long for sacred pauses—moments to honor life’s thresholds, celebrate beginnings, release endings, and mark transitions with intention.

When humans participate in ceremony, they enter a sacred space. Everything outside of that space shrivels in importance. Time takes on a different dimension. Emotions flow more freely. The bodies of participants become filled with the energy of life, and this energy reaches out and blesses the creation around them. All is made new; everything becomes sacred.” — Sun Bear

Elizabeth Gilbert

“We do spiritual ceremonies as human beings in order to create a safe resting place for our most complicated feelings of joy or trauma, so that we don’t have to haul those feelings around with us forever, weighing us down. We all need such places of ritual safekeeping. And I do believe that if your culture or tradition doesn’t have the specific ritual you are craving, then you are absolutely permitted to make up a ceremony of your own devising...”

“The purpose of rituals is to end, for a time, our sense of human alienation from nature and from each other...Rituals have the power to reset the terms of our universe until we find ourselves suddenly and truly at home.”

CRAFTING HEARTFELT Wedding Ceremonies

Weddings are one of the last ceremonies we have preserved in modern life, a moment, when two people step over a threshold together, where vows exchanged create a new container for devotion to grow in, and where love is celebrated in its most profound form.

Many couples seek a ceremony that feels spiritual, meaningful, and deeply personal, even if not tied to a specific religious tradition.

My approach is to co-create a ceremony that reflects your unique love story and values, honoring the significance of your commitment.

WHAT I OFFER

Three Ceremony Planning Sessions

  • Initial session to explore your story, shared values, and hopes for your wedding & marriage

  • Collaborative creation of a heartfelt, personalized ceremony that reflects your love story, integrates meaningful rituals, and feels deeply personal.

  • Final session to refine details and support vow writing.

This process gives couples the opportunity to reflect on their partnership, deepen their connection, and create a ceremony that feels like an authentic expression of their love.

Optional Officiation:
If desired, I can officiate your ceremony, bringing a grounded and heartfelt presence to your wedding day.

Investment:

  • 3 sessions: $300

  • Officiating: $150 (+ travel fees)

“Ceremony may be self-derived, it may come from vision, it may be given by a teacher, it may be cultural.  But from all sources it has the same underlying root.  It is a process in which the human capacity for sacred feeling and reverence is given form and expression.”
